The short version: the Wordmate app processes your voice on your Mac. We do not receive your recordings or transcripts.

What happens in the app
Wordmate uses microphone access to record dictation and Accessibility access to paste the result where you are typing. Audio is held in a temporary local file while it is transcribed, then deleted. Speech recognition and optional text cleanup run locally. The transcript is copied to your Mac clipboard and, when permission allows, pasted into the selected app.
The app has no account and no analytics SDK. It does not send us your audio, transcripts, or usage history.
What stays on your Mac
Wordmate stores your settings, selected microphone, downloaded models, and simple totals such as words dictated and recording time on your Mac. It does not store the text of past dictations as a usage history. You can remove this local data by deleting Wordmate and its app data.
When the app goes online
Wordmate connects to the internet to download its speech and language models during setup and when you ask it to check for software updates. Those services receive normal request information, such as your IP address and the time of the request, but no recording or transcript is attached.
The website
We use Google Analytics to understand visits and count Wordmate download clicks. It may collect a cookie identifier, approximate location, browser and device details, pages viewed, and interactions with the site. We do not send names, email addresses, recordings, or transcripts to Google Analytics. You can block or delete analytics cookies in your browser.
Vercel and Cloudflare help host the website, assets, and downloads. Like most hosting providers, they may receive ordinary request logs. We do not sell personal data.
Your choices
Most Wordmate data is yours alone because it stays on your Mac. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights over personal data handled by the website. You can with a privacy question or request. We keep website analytics and support messages only as long as they remain useful for those purposes, subject to our providers' settings and policies.
